Northside PAC Meeting, #5 (2022/23 School Year)
Participants: Christina Rodriguez (President), Teresa Smith (Treasurer), Kristy Tofuri (Treasurer), Erica L. Garvin (Social Media Manager), Sarah Sheehan (Secretary), Principal Scott (WSS), Principal Carreiro (NI), Jaime Noberini, Jacki Desmond, Jen B., Michelle Scarelli.

Principal Updates
o Visiting Author/Illustrator David Biedrzycki coming to WSS on 2/13 and NI 2/14; PAC joined the schools in sponsoring this great event for the students
o NI students seeing “Newsies” at the Stoneham Theater in February (sponsored by school and parents)
o “Kindness” is the topic of the month at WSS; Random Act of Kindness Week starts 2/13
o 100th day of school will fall first week in Feb (exact date TBD due to potential Snow Days)
- PAC plans to send in treats for teachers, likely coffee and donuts
o PAC is hoping to confirm with schools when Teacher Appreciation Week will be this year so we can prepare for the traditional lunch and other gifts/etc.

- Adult Social Trivia Night Fundraiser
· Friday, April 1, 2023
· Tewksbury Elks is booked ($100 deposit, $450 still due)
· Cash bar, BYO Food (PAC may order in pizza)
· Potential DJ/Emcee John Tramiglia ($450)
· Raffle table and Trivia Prizes
o Start to look around for donations
· Possible Joke Contest (April Fool’s theme)
o 5th Grade Party and Yearbook
- Looking for volunteers from the 5th grade parents; Flyer went home this week, volunteers have been reaching out over email and Facebook
· A google form will be sent out to formalize involvement
- Teresa went over highlights from last year’s 5thgrade Yearbook and Party and will be available as a resource for this year’s; Erica will lead the Yearbook Team
- Costs will be covered by PAC and 5th Grade families (last year was $20 per student); last year PAC contributed $2k
- There are just about 150 5th graders this year
- Yearbook
· Created using Google Slides and printed by Roger Bell of Versatile Print in Burlington (Shawsheen Tech may be another possibility; and open to other suggestions)
· School Secretary may be able to assist getting current school photos of Students from Lifetouch
· Principal Carriero wants to view and sign-off on Yearbook prior to printing
- Party
· Several meeting attendees expressed interest in helping with party planning
· Yearbooks and swag bags (canvas bag, sunglasses, gel pens, treats etc.) will be distributed
· Party set up in ‘stations’ (ice cream, year books, inflatable/dunk tank, dance party, etc.); parents can volunteer to cover stations
· Mrs. Pereira was involved last year
· Ice cream was provided at discount by Dandi Lyons (Reading; owned by a Wilmington Family)
o Wildwood PAC has invited Northside PAC to their Dinner Social Event at Tremezzo on Weds 1/25, $40 pp
o Looking to re-stock the Teacher’s lounges after Feb Vacation
Other event brainstorming
- Ice Cream Social or Family Picnic
- Fundraiser Dinner Night at a Restaurant (e.g. Chipotle)
- Square One Art Fundraiser
· Kids draw on supplied pages, these get sent to Square One who will make fun items from art work (mugs, mouse pads, etc.) for families to order
· Not a lot of work to put together
- Rainbow Color Fun Run
· Consider using 99 Pledges website
· Get color powder from Amazon(?), parents/teachers can buy to blast kids during run
· Consider ordering white t-shirts (with paw print on back) from Wilmington Trophy) for participants
· Discussed time and place and due to restraints at schools, will look into a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at the Town Hall ball field·
